At Clonalis House, we understand that dogs are part of the family! Our dog-friendly policy ensures you and your canine companion will have a tail-wagging time in the beautiful surroundings of our estate. With open spaces away from busy roads, scenic trails, and dog-friendly cottages, your very important pooches will feel right at home.

We have outlined a few paw-some house rules below to follow should you decide to bring your dog. Please let us know in advance if you wish to bring a dog. 🐾

  • Each Cottage is happy to accept up to two well behaved fully house trained dogs for a fee of 35 euro per dog. Dogs must be older than 12 months – no playful little pups sorry, even if they are adorable.
  • Respect other guests. Not everyone is comfortable around dogs. Ensure your dog does not approach other people, especially children or elderly visitors, without permission. Be mindful when walking your dog within the proximity of other dogs.
  • Dogs must be supervised and kept on a lead at all times by a responsible adult. There is a working farm with livestock in the fields on the estate, owners are responsible for their dog at all times.
  • Carry waste bags, any mess inside or outside must be cleared away immediately.
  • We kindly asks that you do not leave your canine companion unattended in any of the properties – new environments can cause much distress.
  • Four-legged friends are strictly not allowed on furniture or upstairs.
  • If your dog is barking indoors, please make every effort to quieten them down.
  • We know that dogs can be quite picky about their home comforts so we trust that you’ll bring their bed, blankets, towels, treats and food with you. However, you’ll find 1 water bowl and 1 food bowl in each property for you to use during your stay once we are notified.
  • When returning from muddy walks, please use the tap outside the stables for rinsing muddy paws.
  • If your dog has caused any damage or any excess cleaning is required within the cottage then you will be charged accordingly. You are responsible and liable for the actions and behaviour of your dog. It is your responsibility as an owner to insure against damage and personal injury your pet(s) may cause while staying to other animals or people.

For peace of mind, in the case of emergencies, we can recommend the local vet for you to contact:

  • We do not accept the following dogs: Pit Bull Terriers (all breeds), Bull Mastiff, Dobermann Pinscher, Rottweiler, Alsatian, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Japanese Akita, Japanese Tosa.
  • If we, in or sole and reasonable discretion, consider your dog to be dangerous or to be causing a nuisance, harm or threat to anyone, or be likely to do so, we may ask you to remove it from the accommodation (without refund or compensation) or have it removed to kennels at your expense.
  • We will not accept any responsibility for the loss, injury or death of your dog.
  • No other pets are permitted.
  • Please ensure your dog is up-to-date with any vaccinations.
