- A lovely, restful stay! What a special experience! From the home-bakes on arrival to the scrumptious evening meal and breakfast, we loved every minute of our stay. The peace and tranquility of the grounds provides for a peaceful, restful stay and being hosted by the 27th generation of the O'Conor clan, Richard and Carol-Anne, completes this very unique experience. Step back in time as you stroll through the house, with antiques and beautiful paintings on every wall, take a magical walk through the Pooh bear-themed woods or curl up with a book in the library. Do go, you won’t be disappointed!read moreread lessTreasa4207/06/2023A wonderful stay at a historical home Robert and Carol-Anne offer a wonderful stay at their home. History oozes from every corner of this beautiful well loved house. The library is a treat in itself, comfortable chairs to sit in and drink a coffee and enjoy the views into the garden. The bedrooms are beautiful, A couch by the large window and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The grounds meet up with the Suck river walk and to stroll through the woods is a lovely way to wile away an hour or two. Breakfast was delicious and certainly set you up for the day.read moreread lessMichelle D23/05/2023Clonalis House , a hidden gem . Our visit to Clonalis House was a fabulous experience. - Warm Hospitality and Great Food Once we entered their home, Carol-Anne made us feel like welcome guests. Marguerite brought us on an informative tour of the house - the house and family are steeped in history. This was followed by tea and home-baked cake in the library where we met a friendly and chatty couple. We had time for a walk around the grounds before pre-dinner drinks in the library. We shared a dinner table with our new-found friends which made for a very sociable evening. Richard cooked a top-class meal. Coffee and drinks in the library afterwards. The four of us were joined by an American lady and we chatted away until midnight. The bedroom was old style with a beautiful view. Richard's poached eggs for breakfast were top-class - poached eggs can be very hit-and-miss. The homemade plum jam and brown bread were amazing. Piers dropped into the butler's pantry to see hello at breakfast time. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it.read moreread less3Buffy306/09/2022Ger Buckley Clonalis House is exceptional in every way, a beautiful place to stay, wonderful hospitality and an unrivalled history. - Lynn SWhat an Experience! I would repeat this visit many times if I could! This was on a beautiful estate, with luxurious rooms -- my room had a fireplace, and there was also a fireplace (and clawfoot tub) in my ensuite! We opted for the dinner, and it was absolutely incredible. We truly felt like we were royalty -- it was a wonderful experience, very welcoming yet luxurious. There were trails as well, that went through beautiful gardens. I would make this a stop on my next trip to Ireland without a doubt! - 01/02/24read moreread less

Anne, our tour guide, provided us with a fascinating and insightful tour. The dinner in the cozy living room surpassed expectations. Following a rejuvenating run through the expansive park and savoring an excellent breakfast, we received valuable recommendations for our next destination near Dublin. - 01/08/23read moreread less
