ARIGNA MINING EXPERIENCE
Is located in a beautiful scenic location overlooking Lough Allen. The centre is a community-inspired initiative that preserves the 400-year coal mining heritage of this area and allows visitors an insight into coal mining life as it was in the Arigna Valley for centuries.
ATHLONE CASTLE
The thirteenth century Athlone castle is a heritage attraction on the banks of the River Shannon. The castle's keep is a national monument and the visitor centre brings to life the stories of the town and its people from ancient through to modern times.
BAYSPORTS
Baysports, just outside Athlone, is a great spot for families with its inflatable water park, kayak tours, rafting, pedalos, dragon boat racing and sailing. It also holds the Guinness World Record for the largest floating slide in the country.
RATHCROGHAN VISITOR CENTRE
Rathcroghan Visitor Centre interprets the rich archaeology and mythology of a prehistoric royal site, which was home to the fearsome Iron Age warrior queen Medb (Maeve), and starting place for the Táin Bó Cúailnge (Cattle Raid of Cooley), the oldest vernacular epic in European Literature.
ROSCOMMON EQUESTRIAN CENTRE
Ideally located near the scenic Lough Ree the Kelly family have run Roscommon Equestrian Centre, located between Roscommon town and Lanesboro village since 2003. It is a popular destination with everything you could need for a truly enjoyable riding experience.
STROKESTOWN PARK HOUSE
Not to be missed is the National Famine Museum & Strokestown Park, which draws on original documents and images relating to the Great Famine of the 1840s. Their collection includes actual letters written by the tenants on the Strokestown Estate at the time of the famine. Make sure to have walk through the historic gardens and woodland

Cycling for the whole family at Lough O’Flynn, the Boyle to Lough Key cycleway and the traffic-free Shannon Blueway in Leitrim with Electric Bike Trails
KING HOUSE
Is a magnificently restored Georgian mansion located in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Built in 1730 by the King family, the house later became a military barracks for the famous Irish regiment of the British army, the Connaught Rangers. The house is open to the public as a museum bringing its history to life.
